It’s a clear message to the youth that the Taliban will support sports: Shinwari
Just one Test match has been played between India and Afghanistan, which took place in Bengaluru’s M Chinnaswamy Stadium in 2018.
Shinwari further stated that the Taliban is committed to supporting cricket to the best of their ability. Prior to the red-ball matches, the Afghans will compete in the T20 World Cup, which will be held in the United Arab Emirates in October and November.

As a component of their preparations for the multi-nation competition in the UAE, the Afghans are also preparing a triangular series.
“We are working for a T20 tri-series, which will feature Afghanistan, West Indies, and Sri Lanka. Most probably, it will be held in UAE before the T20 World Cup. We will have a camp, most probably in Qatar, for our national team before the tri-series,” he added.
