IPL confirmed no objection to Sunil Narine bowling action:
On Sunday (18-10-2020), the Indian Premier League said that Sunil Narine, the spinner of West Indies can bowl after the bowling action was found nothing unlawful during an evaluation that was encouraged by an on-field umpire earlier this month.
Kolkata Knight Riders, the team of Sunil Narine asked for the evaluation after the on-field umpires doubted an illicit elbow bend in the 10th October match against Kings XI Punjab, which ended with a tie and gave a warning.
After the evaluation, it is cleared that there is no such illegal bowling action. Now the 32-years old pacer can continue with his bowling style.
In an official statement, the league said “KKR requested for evaluation of bowling action of Narine from the suspect action committee of IPL, surrendering bowling action clip in slow motion with side and back angles.”
Investigation Results:
“Carefully the committee investigated all the bowling action clips sent of Sunil Narine and come to the decision that the bending of elbow happens within the permissible range limits.”
The committee also said that Sunil Narine should continue the same bowling action in the 2020 IPL matches as submitted to the committee in the video clips.
Sunil Narine modified his bowling action after he was reported two times during the 2014 defunct Champions League T20. In the 2015 IPL, he was reported and also after the ODI match against Sri Lanka. During the 2018 Pakistan Super League, he was reported again.
But every time, he was cleared to bowl.
In all this, KKR said that they were really surprised by seeing the warning and worked with the IPL team to get Sunil Narine cleared. Because of this allegation, he was also dropped for the next two games.
From the past two matches, Eoin Morgan is leading KKR, which is already claimed the IPL title two times. Now KKR is placed in the fourth position.
