Sourav Ganguly is now the brand ambassador of the My11 circle app which persuades his followers who are cricket buffs to match up to their fancy cricket skills against him! ( A former Indian cricket team captain). Sourav Ganguly himself feels that he can be the part of a cricket team and even captain it ( In the fantasy game) though he left the game ten years back. During the app launch. Sourav Ganguly jokingly said that now, he can make himself as the captain. Also, he can bowl a few overs while he is still in his slips. When he was choosing his team at the event.
It makes him feel satisfied because it makes people feel better through the fantasy platform. Just as the way how he does it with his popular game show Dadagiri.
At the launch event. The former Indian captain told as such, “Happy that you spoke about a show that is close to me, but this is fantasy cricket. It is an exciting platform, you do not pick one team national or state team. It is a combination of the best players but you are also balancing the points to pick a team. I met Toofan, who has got the better of my team during the World Cup. You feel good as well. Someone from Birbhum, staying in a mud house, working in paddy fields feels I know better than Sourav Ganguly. It gives him immense confidence,”
Will it create a conflict of interest?
Well, will this might generate a conflict of interest for Sourav Ganguly(BCCI president) because BCCI has sponsorship from another fantasy platform. For which he replied that it will not generate any conflict of interest and it might have been a conflict of if he was endorsing another fantasy cricket platform.
“For the India vs West Indies series Sourav makes his team of 11 players from India and West Indies. Based on how those players do, he will be ranked among others who will also make teams. He is co-creating the platform here,” explains Bhavin Pandya, co-founder, and CEO of My 11 circle.
