Sourav Ganguly ( President of BCCI) has sent 4 Indian player names for Asia XI vs World XI. The two Asia XI vs World XI T20I matches is scheduled on March 18th and also on the 21st of March. The match venue is decided as Sher-e-Bangla Stadium in Dhaka.
The Bangladesh Cricket Board is planning to host the T20I fixtures to remember the 100th anniversary of Bangladesh founding father Sheikh Mujibur Rahman( Bongobondhu “Friend of Bengal”)
There have been many expectations with regard to these matches and especially in regards to the players who will play for Asia XI vs World XI fixtures.
According to Indo-Asian News Service(IANS), Sourav Ganguly, the president of BCCI has sent four names of the players to the BCB who will participate in the matches after checking the player schedule for availability. Fascinatingly according to the report it has been a while since the names were sent out because BCB needed to decide their squad.
According to the information that IANS has got to know that these are the players who will represent India in the Asian squad; Virat Kohli (Indian cricket team captain), Shikhar Dhawan, Mohammad Shami, and Kuldeep Yadav.
Intriguingly, the first match of Asia XI vs World XI will collide with the final ODI match of India vs South Africa. However, maybe Indian players will skip the first match and participate in the second T20I.
Pakistan Players will not participate in Asia XI vs World XI
There was also a great curiosity with regard to participating Pakistan players in the two fixtures because of the relationship between Pakistan and India. Nonetheless, BCCI’s joint secretary Jayesh George settled the issue by confirming that there would be no Pakistani players in the match.
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has clarified that it is not a case of neglecting them to support India. The reason is that they have commitments as the Pakistan Super League has already been scheduled.
