Shoaib Akhtar Proposed A Three-Match ODI Series India & Pakistan To Raise Funds For The Fight Against The COVID-19 Pandemic:
Former terrific Pakistan bowler Shoaib Akhtar proposed a three-match ODI series in between India and Pakistan to raise funds to fight against coronavirus.
Since 2007, both the countries have never played a complete series because of terrorist attacks & diplomatic tensions. Both the nations only play with each other in ICC events and Asia Cup.
Shoaib Akhtar demonstrated PTI from Islamabad “In this critical situation, I want to urge for a three-match series in which the people of neither country would be hurt at the output of the matches for the first time.”
Further, he said “If Virat Kohli scores a century, we will be happy or if Babar Azam scores a century, we will feel the same. Whatever happens on the field, both the teams, India and Pakistan will be winners”.
The Pakistani pacer also said “For the matches, you have to get a large viewership. Both nations will play for each other for the first time. And whatever fund will be collected from the matches can be donated in equal parts to the Indian government as well as Pakistan government to fight this dangerous virus.
Now both the countries are in lockdown stage, so the matches can only be organized when the conditions get improved.
But the 44-years-old thinks that the sooner the matches are held, the better it would be but can’t tell how the organization of such kind of initiative would be worked out.
He added “At this moment, everyone is sitting at home only, so there will be a large fan following for the matches. Maybe it is not possible now, when things get better, the matches could be arranged at a neutral location like Dubai, Charted planes could be organized and the games could be held.”
“The whole world will see this, so a large sum of money can be collected to deal with this pandemic. In tough situations, the characters of the country come forward.”
