Shanthakumaran Sreesanth’s comeback is confirmed as he will be playing in Kerela’s T20 tournament which will take place before the domestic season 2020/21. The right arm pace bowler will get his chance to press his case for selection in the Kerela Ranji Trophy team as he is all prepared to join in the state’s T20 tournament.
S Sreesanth Has Served His 7- Year Ban Period Because Of Match-Fixing In IPL
S Sreesanth is making a comeback after a long 7 years of span, he was banned in 2013 because of match fixing scandal where he was arrested by Delhi Police during the IPL. S Sreesanth was banned along with Rajasthan Royals teammates Ajit Chandila and Ankeet Chavan. BCCI Considered the length of S Sreesanth’s punishment and the ban was lifted on September 13, 2020.

S Sreesanth will star in T20 tournament Taking Place Before 2020/21 Domestic Season
Several State Board are organizing their T20 leagues to promote their local talents and Kerela Cricet Association is the latest to join T20 list. Sajan K. Varghese, KCA’s President, confirmed Sreesanth’s participation and said that he will be the star attraction. “Yes, definitely. Sreesanth will be an attraction. Every player will be in a bio-bubble in one hotel in Alappuzha. We are looking at the first week of December. The clearance from the Kerala government is the main thing,” he said.
Sajan K. Varghese is waiting for clearance approval from the Kerela government and they’re observing it to start by the first week of December. President further added that tournament will be supported by Dream 11 where players from different age groups will participate. Dream 11 is a fantasy platform who is also titled as the sponsor of the IPL which will give good reach for upcoming new tournament.
S Sreesanth made his debut in 2005 who was the part of 2007 T20 world cup and 2011 ODI world cup where India was victorious. |
S Sreesanth’s performance in the T20 league can also have his stand for comeback into state team and IPL contract which he has been away from 2013. He played his last competitive game against Kings X1 Punjab in the IPL 2013.
