RR vs MI: Key Players Battles
Rajasthan Royals vs Mumbai Indians Players Battles Preview:
RR vs MI Key Players Battles: A lot of water has passed under the bridge since RR and MI first met this season. Both teams have gone in extreme directions post their initial matchup. RR is placed second in the points table while MI languishes at the bottom. The big match players of both teams have dictated the fortunes of these teams. RR’s key players have fired in unison while MI’s stars have failed miserably.
We Look At The RR vs MI Key Players Battles In This Contest:
#1 Jos Buttler vs Jasprit Bumrah
Mumbai was blamed last time for not introducing Jasprit Bumrah early with the new ball. Bumrah is Mumbai’s biggest bowling hope. He has pretty much been a lone warrior the whole season. As he has found little or no support, Bumrah has not been the wicket bank that he has always been. Yet such is his prowess that he might be the only one who can stop a red-hot Jos Buttler. If Mumbai Indians don’t manage to get him early, they might be staring at another loss.
#2 Shimron Hetmyer vs Riley Meredith
Riley Meredith was one of MI’s last roll of dice. He was fantastic in the game against CSK. But unfortunately, Mumbai Indians couldn’t end up on the right side. He will be tested though against Shimron Hetmyer. RR’s designated finisher, Hetmyer has been on song this season. He was the point of difference the first time these two sides met this season. RR will dearly like an encore.
#3 Tilak Varma vs Yuzvendra Chahal
MI’s young brigade has been impressive this season. Tilak Varma has been their leading run-getter so far. Varma has already shown he has a vast expanse of strokes. He has been good against both pace and spin. Varma has failed to take his side home but he has proven his potential already. He will be up against the tournament’s best bowler, Yuzvendra Chahal. The wily magician got the better of Varma, the last time these two sides met each other. Expect a firecracker of a contest.
#4 Dewald Brevis vs Ravichandran Ashwin
The player who has generated the most excitement among Mumbai fans is Dewald Brevis. All of 19 years, Brevis has set the stage on fire. There is humungous potential in this U-19 star. He has repeatedly shown glimpses of his brilliance. His takedown of the spinner, Rahul Chahar remains one of the tournament’s highlights. In the game against Rajasthan Royals, he will be up against one of the smartest in the business. A veteran like Ravichandran Ashwin will be keen to show his bag of tricks against a young Brevis. It promises to be an enticing battle.
