What this tour mean to Rohit Sharma, the test batsman?

Rohit Sharma’s presence does bolster the test batting line-up as Sharma just recently started tasting success as a Test opener. His overall test numbers do look quite good as he has amassed 2141 runs in 32 test matches averaging an impressive 46.5. He has scored 6 centuries in that process. But the bulk of his test runs have been notched up at home. He has a mind-boggling average of 88.33 in 14 home tests while his away returns are pretty meagre. He averages a paltry 26.32 in 18 away tests. This is one statistic that Rohit Sharma will look to improve once he lands down under and takes on the Aussies in the last 2 tests.
