Rashid Khan Reacts Funnily After Being Hit In Abdomen:
In the fifth game of the ongoing eighth season of the Caribbean Premier League between St Lucia Zouks and Barbados Tridents in Tarouba, Barbados Tridents spinner Rashid Khan was hit in the abdomen after he failed to pick up a shot from the boundary.
It all happened after the first delivery of the second over, when St. Lucia Zouk’s all-rounder, Rahkeem Cornwall, hit a Rashid delivery to the deep mid-wicket to run a single. The ball struck Rashid when he was taking a shot at the back of the non-stripper.
Fortunate enough not to get hurt, the 21-year-old player saw the funny side of the incident on his Twitter social media platform. “Too close,” read Rashid ‘s tweet below the video on the official handle of the Caribbean Premier League.
Given the weather forecast in Tarouba, both matches were able to see a result. However, the first had to be reduced to a five-game fixture where Zouks had to chase 47 runs to win.
Cameos from the likes of wicket-holder Andre Fletcher (16 *), all-rounder Mohammad Nabi (15) and Cornwall (14) helped Zouks to a 7-game win in the last round. While Rashid dismissed Cornwall and Nabi in the two overs he had bowed, leaking 24 runs in the process proved to be costly for Tridents.
