#4 Ravindra Jadeja
Ravindra Jadeja made his international debut in 2009. He was a very limited cricketer back then. But he found major support in former Indian captain, MS Dhoni. He backed Jadeja to the hilt. Dhoni once promoted Jadeja to bat at number 4 in the T20 World Cup in 2009. Jadeja ended up consuming 35 balls to score 25 runs. India went on to lose the game. In the next T20 World Cup in 2010, Jadeja conceded 6 sixes in 2 overs in a game against Australia. India lost that match too. But still, Dhoni’s faith in Jadeja was never-ending. He kept persisting with him. Jadeja though has been a totally different player in the last couple of seasons.

Piyush Chawla is one of the rare Indian cricketers to have won 2 World Cup medals. Chawla was part of the T20 World Cup win in 2007 and the ODI World Cup win in 2011. MS Dhoni trusted Chawla a lot. He put in a couple of decent performances prior to the T20 World Cup and was selected in the squad. Vijay Shankar is a proven performer in the domestic circuit. He has been a workhorse for Tamil Nadu over the years. Shankar got a look into the Indian team during the Nidahas trophy in 2018. India were in search of a like to like replacement for Hardik Pandya. Their search led to Shankar. Shankar’s 19 balls 17 almost cost India the finals. He returned back a year later and delivered a couple of impressive performances. Shankar was preferred over Rayudu for the World Cup. How he got selected to play for India in the World Cup still remains a mystery.

Shivam Dube was talked up hugely in domestic cricket. His big-hitting abilities were much-hyped. This led him to earn an IPL contract with RCB. Dube soon made his India debut. He played mainly in the absence of Hardik Pandya. Dube’s all-round abilities did come to light in a couple of games but he was a downer on most of the occasions. His feet fail to move while batting and he isn’t certainly cut out for international cricket. He can surely consider himself lucky as he played considerable games for India.
