Delhi Capitals chased the score of 196 runs, set by Punjab Kings, with an over and a half to spare. KL Rahul’s Kings seemed to have no answers to Capital’s lethal batting attack. The Punjab side put up a defendable total of 195 runs for the Rishabh Pant’s team to chase. The ‘Reds of North’, however, failed in their attempt to defend the hefty total.
IPL 2021: Ashish Nehra takes a dig at KL Rahul
Shikhar Dhawan’s masterclass knock of 92 runs cemented an easy run-chase for the Delhi-based franchise, Marcus Stoinis finished the game for Delhi as they climbed on the second spot of the IPL points table with 2 wins in 3 games. Former Delhi Capitals (Delhi Daredevils) Ashish Nehra pointed out KL Rahul’s mistakes while handing the bowling department.
Ashish Nehra stated that Rahul should have done better in the powerplay overs while trying his best to restrict Delhi’s batsmen from getting set on the pitch.
“See, there are a few things which every player wants to do in this format. You like to bowl well, bat well, field brilliantly. You have good or bad days, it’s a common thing in this game. But there are certain things which are in your control, at least that you can do. You didn’t give early overs to your most expensive overseas bowlers.
“PBKS messed up their bowling plans. They played four different bowlers to start with. Such things are mostly done by those sides who lack resources. So, I think, that’s the biggest mistake they committed,” concluded Nehra.
Punjab Kings will face Sunrisers Hyderabad in the next IPL game on April 21, 2021.
