Rain Suspends The Historic Match:
The umpires called off the match at 15:35pm, the local time around 10:35 GMT, after having only 91 overs of the match in three days. Team Sri Lanka progressed to 282-6 from an overnight total of 263-6, with Dhananjaya de Silva on 87 runs with 13 short of his fourth Test hundred.

For Pakistan Team, the 16-year-old pacer Naseem Shah who had 2-83 and Shaheen Shah Afridi with 2-58 were the most outstanding bowlers. The situation put a dampener on the long wait return to Test cricket in Team Pakistan, following the 2009 militant attack on Sri Lanka’s team bus that left eight persons dead and several other players and officials wounded.
Despite the poor weather conditions, the schoolchildren were enthralled when the Team Pakistan players went to the fence and had some selfies with them. “I am over the moon right now, as I had a selfie with the famous batsman Babar Azam and my wish has come true,” stated Amna Ansari, a school student from Islamabad.
Hamad Ali, from Rawalpindi, showed his gratitude to the Sri Lankan team for having the tour in Pakistan. “It needs a big heart to once again come to the country where their team was attacked,” Ali stated. “We must show our gratitude to Sri Lanka and hope more teams will visit our country.”
The gradual improvement in security allowed Pakistan to host this limited-overs match series between 2015-19 but the other foreign teams declined to play five-day matches. The second Test is scheduled to held in Karachi from December 19.
