Pakistan vs Sri Lanka Asia Cup 2023 Update: The highly important game between Pakistan and Sri Lanka which is scheduled to be start at 3 PM IST is getting delayed due to the extremely fond reason, the rain.
Rain has been more consistent in this tournament than any team in the Asia Cup 2023. Considering the importance of today’s game both teams’ fans are expecting a game, especially Pakistan’s fans.
Both teams are coming into the game after facing defeat from India, and with the men in blue already in the final, and Bangladesh are eliminated. The winner of today’s game will play the final on September 17. However, in case the match called off, then Sri Lanka will get a chance to play against India on Sunday due to better run-rate than Pakistan.

Team Pakistan’s first home Test match in a decade was affected due to bad weather on Friday, with the rain starting and the sodden pitch forcing all the officials to suspend the match on the third day of the contest against Sri Lanka Team. The first session was drained out by wet weather and only 27 minutes of the match was possible before the players walked off with just 5.2 overs.
Rain Suspends The Historic Match:
The umpires called off the match at 15:35pm, the local time around 10:35 GMT, after having only 91 overs of the match in three days. Team Sri Lanka progressed to 282-6 from an overnight total of 263-6, with Dhananjaya de Silva on 87 runs with 13 short of his fourth Test hundred.
Dilruwan Perera was unbeaten on six as stop-start match left the whole team players and some 2k fans, most of whom were school kids frustrated.
On Thursday, there was rain and poor light which kept both the teams off the field for all but for 83 minutes.

Hamad Ali, from Rawalpindi, showed his gratitude to the Sri Lankan team for having the tour in Pakistan. “It needs a big heart to once again come to the country where their team was attacked,” Ali stated. “We must show our gratitude to Sri Lanka and hope more teams will visit our country.”
The gradual improvement in security allowed Pakistan to host this limited-overs match series between 2015-19 but the other foreign teams declined to play five-day matches. The second Test is scheduled to held in Karachi from December 19.
