On Sunday, The Pakistan Squad Will Hit England Without The Ten Cricketers Who Have Been Positive For Coronavirus Testing:
Pakistan all set to arrive on Sunday without 10 coronavirus-infected players for an England cricket tour which has no scheduled games yet.On Friday the England and Wales Cricket Board announced the tour, stating only that the three tests and three Twenty20s would be spectator-free.
The tour was originally scheduled to start on July 30 but the pandemic delayed all the tours, and next month England’s three-test series against the West Indies is not scheduled to end until July 28. The itinerary for Pakistan “will be announced in due time,” the ECB said.
The 10 players and one member of staff who tested positive for the virus this week are isolating themselves in their homes in Pakistan, and will join the tour as they are cleared. The rest of the Pakistan team, which will go through more tests before leaving on Sunday, will go into isolation in Worcester for 14 days upon arrival in England before being moved to Incora County Ground on July 13.
The board met via video conference and approved a budget of 7.76 billion rupees (around $46 million) for 2020-21 including its flagship T20 league, Pakistan Super League. In March, the PCB had to cancel the PSL but hopes to stage this year’s playoffs. For the 2021 tournament starting in February, Peshawar was added as a fifth venue for the game.
