Two From India And One From Pakistan
As all the domestic and international cricket events have been suspended cricket players are spending time with their fans through social media.
Pakistan opening batsman Mohammad Hafeez took to the popular social networking site to do a Question and Answer session with fans, on Wednesday. During the chat session, he answered questions related to his profession of cricket and personal life.
One Twitter user asked him to name his top 5 batsmen in the world. Hafeez surprisingly chose two batsmen from India and only one batsman from his country Pakistan. And the remaining two batsmen each come from South Africa and West Indies.
Hafeez chose Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli from his arch-rival side India and former Pakistani opener Saeed Anwar from his country. He also picked West Indies great Brian Lara ‘s name and South Africa’s AB de Villiers in his list of top 5 batsmen.
“I’m Against What Sharjewel Did”
The 39-year old was also asked about his opinion about Sharjeel Khan who was found guilty of spot-fixing in Pakistan Super League.
He said he is against what Sharjeel did and not against him. He replied saying,” I’m ‘ not against individuals but against the act.’
Hafeez had earlier opposed PCB’s decision to offer Sharjeel another chance to play for the national team after completing a two and a half year ban for spot-fixing.
He asked the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) that shouldn’t dignity be more important than their excuse of extra talent to offer a place in the national team.
He said regarding Sharjeel’s inclusion in the team,” “Shouldn’t we set standards of dignity and pride higher than any other ‘Extra Talent’ to represent Pakistan. Just Asking.”
Hafeez previously was against Mohammad Amir’s re-entry into the team, who was key for Pakistan’s win of Champion’s Trophy in 2017, when the PCB recalled the pacer after serving his five-year ban in spot-fixing.
