In the WTC Final, New Zealand defeated India by eight wickets to win the championship for the first time. Rain dominated the first few days, but on the reserve day, the tables were turned on India, with the Kiwis bowling well.

It’s a great side and we are proud to achieve a win in this match but it doesn’t take away anything from the fact that how strong they are and what quality they have,” he added.
Meanwhile, Kane Williamson is certain that India’s current team would continue to win many more matches in the future. He praised the speed attack, as well as the spinners and the high-class batting lineup. “No doubt they will win plenty more, you know their quality”.
“They are relentless, they have a pace-attack which is best in the world, incredible spin bowlers and batting need no mention. The depth that they have created,” the 30-year-old further said. The Indian players have been termed “ambassadors of the game” by the Kiwi captain, who also enjoys the emotions that supporters bring to the game.
“Emotion that a country brings for sport, we can all appreciate having India and their passion is rewarding. They (players) hold themselves as ambassadors of the game,” Williamson said.
