In the upcoming tour of India vs New Zealand, the first T20I will start in Auckland on January 24. It’s worth mentioning that, after exactly one year, India is visiting New Zealand for a full tour.
India won the ODI series against them 4-1 at the time of their last visit but lost the T20I series 2-1.
The five-match T20I series being played by India is a role-reversal, and this time around there is a three-match ODI series. India has a squad that is strong and which will be keen to make amends. India will keep its best foot forward in the shortest format and needs to do so for the ICC T20 World Cup later this year in Australia.
The hosts are concerned as they have to get their act together. They lost a T20I series of five-matches to England 2-3 in November. In Australia too, they did not play well. They need to pull up their socks for the ongoing season.
