The journey of MSK Prasad has been amazing as the chairman of the BCCI selection committee. In his short-lived professional career between 1999 and 2000 – Prasad failed to grab headlines.

Previously, It had also stated by Prasad that the selection panel was thinking to call Rishabh Pant back after the World Cup to help him and at the international level to develop him. However, due to his inconsistent performances, Pant has failed to live up.

As a chairman of the BCCI selection panel, the occupancy of Prasad in the selection panel is close to its climax. About his views regarding the absence of MS Dhoni for more than six months, the 44-year-old has been opened up now.
According to MSK Prasad, the focus of the selection panel is on the youngsters as they get a similar chance to prove their strength. He acknowledged that he is a great fan of Dhoni and the former captain will himself take his decision.
As per discussion we are calling youngsters and giving them a chance to play long and settle well. Dhoni will take his decision himself. If I keep professional duty aside from panel members, like anyone else I am also a big fan of Dhoni, Prasad told during an interview.
Prasad stressed that as a selector he has to move on towards a player who can give a great future Indian side shortly. He praised Dhoni for whatever he has achieved until now in his career. That wicketkeeper-batsman will be remembered forever in the history of cricket as the most successful captains India has produced ever.
” Under the sun he has achieved everything as he won two World Cups, the Champions Trophy, in Tests he has No. 1 status. Nobody can put a question mark on that. He will take a call about his career. As selectors, it is our responsibility to step forward and recognize the next generation player continue giving them chances,” Prasad added.
