Following an impressive and outstanding performance in the two-Test match series against Bangladesh, the Indian bowlers rose in the ICC Test rankings. Six bowlers from the country are in the top-25 of the world in the latest rankings released by the ICC on their website. In addition, Mohammed Shami, who was the star of the second innings as India cruised to an innings and 130 run wins, broke into the top-10.
Shami’s 790 rating points are the third-best for an India pace bowler with only Kapil Dev (877). While Jasprit Bumrah, who is currently out with injury, stayed at fourth, Mohammed Shami has climbed up to 15 positions to the seventh spot in the rankings.

Shami is the third Indian bowler in the top-10 right now along with Ravichandran Ashwin at 9th and Jasprit Bumrah on 5th. Shami has been enjoying a brilliant run of form lately with 13 wickets in 3 matches against South Africa and nine against Bangladesh.
Australian fast bowler Pat Cummins is still at the top and dominates the rankings. Jason Holder’s five wickets, which helped him move up one slot to third place with a career-best 830 rating points, has also consolidated his position at the top of the all-rounders’ list.
