According to the recent update, Pakistan’s batsman Babar Azam has dethroned Aaron Finch, Australia Captain, in the ICC T20I ranking for batsmen. Babar Azam’s total points to date are 876 and Aaron Finch’s are around 807. With this, Australian opener Aaron Finch has achieved the second rank in the row of ICC listing as he pushed David Malan to the third position in the order.
Dawid Malan, who scored 458 runs, has fallen to No.3 on the batting ranking. He has made a re-entry to the MRF Tyres ICC Men’s T20I Player Rankings
England captain Eoin Morgan and New Zealand opener Martin Guptill have also moved up to take the ninth place jointly while Johnny Bairstow has reached a career-best with 498 points and is in the top 40 for the first time. Bangladesh batsman Mohammad Naim’s 143 runs in three matches saw him tied with Bairstow at 38th position, one slot behind Tony Ura, the top-listed Papua New Guinea batsman.
After a record-breaking performance against Bangladesh, Chahar jumps 88 slots in ICC T20I ranking.
India fast bowler Deepak Chahar, who returned with world-record figures of six for seven against Bangladesh on Sunday, has moved up 88 slots to 42nd rank but the bowlers’ list continues to be led by slow bowlers. The top five and eight of the top nine are spinners, with Mitchell Santner standing in second place, his best rank since he topped the ICC table ranking in January 2018.
In the MRF Tyres ICC Men’s T20I Team positioning, Pakistan continues to be at the top with 270 points but Australia is only one point behind them after winning their three-match series 2-0. England, South Africa, and India occupied the next three positions and are within five points of each other as the respective teams gear up for next year’s ICC Men’s T20I World Cup in Australia.
