KL Rahul who is fresh from leading his IPL side Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) in Dream11 IPL 2020, seems to be having a field day (both on and off it). Rahul had donned the gloves for his team. He ended the tournament as the leading run-scorer in Dream11 IPL 2020 and thereby picked up the orange cap.

The rise of KL Rahul:
Even though KXIP couldn’t reach the playoffs, Rahul’s captaincy and his temperament were lauded by both cricket experts and fans alike. Looking at his consistent showing and with Rohit Sharma being rested, Rahul has been appointed the vice-captain for the Indian team in the limited overs format.
He will carry this responsibility when India kickstart their Australian campaign on 27th November where they are slated to play 3 ODIs, 3 T20Is, and 4 Test Matches. Rahul has also secured a spot back in the test squad and looking at the form he is currently in, he should back himself to have a good tour down under.

Challenges down under:
But the tour of Australia will present Rahul with different set of challenges. Be it the quality of opposition attack comprising Mitchell Starc, Pat Cummins, Josh Hazelwood, and Nathan Lyon or the bouncy tracks which can prove to be a hurdle for Indian batsmen. To add to these factors, the prospects of staying in bio-bubble as part of quarantine protocol is a big challenge too.

How is Rahul coping up with the bio bubble setup?
With players involved in self isolation, it didn’t come as a surprise that Rahul took to Twitter to express what he has been missing since he touched down Australia. He stated that he has been missing UNO nights with his gang comprising Athiya Shetty and friends.
He wrote, “Miss uno nights @mayankagarawal @aashitasood09 @athiyashetty @sinankader @ritikbhasin.” While Athiya immediately quipped, “Great Cards”.

These two have been on a roll with their affection for each other. Rahul even went on to the extent of calling Athiya a “mad child”, in his sweet birthday message which he posted on his social-media accounts.
