Sunil Gavaskar, the legend of cricket, on the nationwide protest which being done by students, was opened up on Saturday. This protest is regarding the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and it is also for recent violence of Jawahar Lal Nehru university which is by a masked mob meted out.
In New Delhi at the 26th Lal Bahadur Shastri Memorial Lecture addressing the crowd the former batsman of India showed confidence that from the current “turmoil” India will overcome soon.
“The country is suffering from turmoil. Where youngsters are supposed to be in classrooms some of them are on the street outside. For being out on the streets some of them are ending up in hospitals,” Gavaskar was quoted.
Gavaskar On Making A Strong Nation
To take the nation forward the people need to unite together, he stated as further going on. “To prepare India for taking it forward and trying to forge their career the majority of them are in classrooms. When we all are together only then we can go higher as a nation. It is possible when simply each one of us is as Indian. That’s what we learned from the game,” he said.
In the past, the country has overcome many crises Gavaskar further said. “When we pull together we win. In past India has overcome many crises. Emerge a stronger nation it will overcome this as well. If we are altogether only then as a nation we can go higher,” he added.
