The captaincy discussion between MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli never seems to end. After India’s latest ICC loss, fans and followers of the game quickly compared Kohli to Dhoni and backed one another, claiming that he is the best because he has won three ICC titles. If that wasn’t enough to keep the fans interested for a long, India batter KL Rahul’s remark has sparked the discussion with a fresh twist. KL Rahul’s Comment On Dhoni.
KL Rahul’s statement on MS Dhoni starts war of words among Dhoni and Virat Kohli fans on Twitter
When KL Rahul made his ODI debut and scored a century, Dhoni was reportedly the captain. Not only the right-handed batsman, but several of these new players have made their debuts under Dhoni and are still at the top of their game. Jasprit Bumrah, Ravindra Jadeja, Hardik Pandya and Mohammed Shami are still in the lineup and have helped the team win games on their own.
Kohli, too, made his debut under Dhoni and has always praised the 39-year- old’s led and advice during his time as captain. Kohli recently tweeted while congratulating him on his birthday, “You will always be my captain,” demonstrating the level of respect the former captain still holds from his teammates.
Rahul now says that he and all the teammates may even “take a bullet for MSD”, which gives Dhoni supporters another opportunity to celebrate his big achievements and what he has accomplished in his career as a player.
‘Any of us would take a bullet for MSD without a second thought’- KL Rahul
KL Rahul’s Comment On Dhoni. “The minute anybody says captain, the first name that comes to mind from our era will be MS Dhoni. We have all played under him. Yes, he has won a lot of tournaments, done amazing things for the country but I think the biggest achievement that as captain you can have is the respect of your teammates and any of us would take a bullet for him without a second thought,” KL Rahul said in an interaction with Forbes India.
“Something I have learned from him is how humble he has been through ups and downs, how he has put his country ahead of everything is just unbelievable,” he added.
