On the second day of the second Test of the ongoing Indian series against South Africa in Pune, South Africa’s fast bowler Kagiso Rabada and wicket-keeper batsman Quinton de Kock were seen at odds with each other. Taking advantage of the situation, the Indian pair of captain Virat Kohli and all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja ran an overthrow.
All this occurred when Jadeja defended a Rabada delivery back to him in the first delivery of the 123rd over.
Rabada, who instinctively threw the ball back to the keeper, ended up with a careless throw which de Kock couldn’t collect.
When the throw came his way, de Kock did not even bother to gather the ball. But, Kohli and Jadeja ran a single, causing Rabada to lose his cool at de Kock. The wicket-keeper also responded aggressively, asking the bowler to be ‘smarter’. After finishing his 29th over, South Africa captain Faf du Plessis was seen talking to the fast bowler.
The tourists at the Maharastra Cricket Association Stadium had a difficult day. While India’s vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane (59) was dismissed, South African bowlers were struggling hard to stop Kohli who scored his seventh Test double-century.
