Javed Miadand Shares Moments From Pakistan’s Tour To India:
Javed Miandad former Pakistani captain remembered some funny experiences when both Pakistan’s cricket team and the Indian cricket team played Holi together in a Bengaluru hotel. Speaking in a Youtube video, Miandad remembered that from Pakistan’s India tour, the players had nothing to do at the hotel, so they spent their time putting colors on each other and tossing each other into the pool.
“Both the teams stayed in the same hotel during the Bangalore Test. There wasn’t anything much to do around. We’d just spend time together throughout the evening. It was during the Holi season,” recalled Miandad.
“People started to play Holi in the hotel. I remember we also walked into Imran Khan’s room, and everybody was putting colors on each other. We didn’t leave Indian cricketers, either. They had no issues, of course, “he said.
Further, the former right-handed batsman recalled that he picked up Ravi Shastri from his room and threw him into the swimming pool. “Ravi Shastri kept himself hiding. We went into his room and picked him up, then dropped him into the pool. We all just enjoyed being together,” he said.
Miandad further named it was the best tour of Pakistan, adding that everyone should take part in the festivals of each other. “That was the best tour of Pakistan. We were all invited. We all celebrated Holi with each other. Everyone should take part in the festivals of each other. I can’t see any harm in that, “he said.
“I also was thrown by the team members in the water. We were pushing each other into the pool. We used to have so much fun,” he signed off.
In the meantime, several cricketers from Pakistan have proposed for a cricket match series between India and Pakistan to raise funds for coronavirus pandemic. However, India has made it very clear, it cannot play any matches against Pakistan, till the Indian government permits for the same.
