T20 World Cup: Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal playing together, it looks unlikely, says Deep Dasgupta
When it comes to the Indian team, the bowling lineup has gotten more attention in addition to the batting order. Former India cricketer Deep Dasgupta has expressed his opinions mostly on prospects of Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal, expressing his views on India’s bowling duo.
Kuldeep and Chahal controlled the white-ball matches for India at one point. The pair has stiff competition, though, with the development of Rahul Chahar and the ever-shining all-round talents of Ravindra Jadeja and Ashwin.
A Lot Will Depend On The SL-Series And The IPL As Well: Dasgupta
Deep Dasgupta on Kuldeep and Yuzvendra Chahal playing together. Deep Dasgupta, on the other hand, believes that the players would have plenty of opportunities to show off their skills in the forthcoming Sri Lanka series and then in the IPL to secure their positions. In response to a question on whether Chahal and Kuldeep will compete together in the T20 World Cup, Dasgupta admitted it is doubtful.
“At the moment, it looks unlikely. To be very honest, I see Rahul Chahar ahead of Yuzi (Yuzvendra Chahal). A lot will depend on the Sri Lanka series and obviously on the IPL as well.” Deep Dasgupta replied to a question asked by a fan on his recent YouTube video.
Chahal and Kuldeep have both recently struggled with the ball. They were unable to produce any notable performances, preventing them from being a regular inclusion in India’s playing XI. In both the England series and the IPL, Kuldeep Yadav failed to create an impression. As a result, when it came to Kuldeep, Deep Dasgupta said that his selection was unlikely because he hasn’t been favoured in a long time.
“As for Kuldeep, he has not been the preferred bowler for more than a year and a half. So, it looks unlikely to me as of now. I don’t know what will happen in six months.”
From July 18, India will play Sri Lanka in 3 ODIs and as many T20Is. As a result, this series will be a key indicator for Chahal and Kuldeep to put up a terrific performance with the ball.
