Ishant Sharma Revealed How His Batting Irritated MS Dhoni:
In the second qualifier of the 2019 Indian Premier League (IPL) at Visakhapatnam, Delhi Capitals (DC) tail-ender Ishant Sharma scored ten runs off the three deliveries of Chennai Super Kings all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja.
Ishant stepped out of his crease on the penultimate delivery to smash a stunning boundary off Jadeja, another similar shot saw Ishant hit Jaddu for a six of the following delivery.
In its stipulated 20 overs, Ishant’s cameo led Capitals to a total of 147/9. Half-centuries by CSK opening batsmen, Shane Watson (50 off 32), and Faf du Plessis (50 off 39), may have won the match for Chennai but Ishant has demonstrated an amazing talent during that match.
Talking on his YouTube show Isolation Premier League with Gaurav Kapur, Ishant revealed how CSK captain MS Dhoni got annoyed after seeing his batting skills.
“Mahi bhai (Dhoni) used to make fun of me at the IPL last year that I can’t hit sixes, saying you don’t have that strength. Then Jaddu (Jadeja) came over and I smashed him for a four and followed by a six. Then I turned my head to see his reaction, Mahi Bhai was abusing Jaddu, ” said Ishant.
