The coronavirus stopped the pestilence. India has seen over 3500 positive cases so far despite being under lockdown since March 24, which comes to end on April 14. The lockdown has led the daily wage earners and needy people around the country and their families to struggle to cope with the situation.
During these tough times, many Indian cricketers have stepped up to help them, and among those who joined the list, Irfan Pathan and Yusuf Pathan are playing a major role. Previously, they had distributed many face masks to protect the people from the deadly virus.
“We are ready to help the government in every way possible in such critical circumstances. The next few days are going to be more critical, and we want every resident of the country to stay at home and take care of themselves as well as their families,” the Pathan brothers said.
In the meantime, they are looking after the food of poor people. Irfan and Yusuf Pathan decided to distribute 10000 kg of rice and 700 kg of potatoes to the poor and needy in Baroda. This is a significant step from the two, as many people suffer from hunger amidst the nationwide lockdown.
Meanwhile, the brothers are both raising awareness and telling their fans and followers the importance of staying at home. Irfan urged his followers not to be afraid at this time and not to spread false news.
Indian cricketing fraternity doing its bit
Meanwhile, like Irfan Pathan and Yusuf Pathan, the Indian cricket fraternity is also doing its part to help the country. BCCI President Sourav Ganguly had earlier donated Rs 50 lakh worth of rice to poor people and offered his assistance to ISKCON Kolkata Center on Saturday. Earlier, the ISKCON Center was able to do 10,000 people every day, but because of Ganguly’s help, they now feed 20,000 people every day.
“We feed 10,000 people daily from ISKCON Kolkata. Our beloved Sourav Da has come forward and extended his support and donation, which will double our capacity to 20,000 people every day,” said Radha Raman Das, Kolkata Center spokesman and ISKCON Vice President.
