Afghanistan’s most notable cricketers, Rashid Khan and Nabi have joined the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) camp for the 2nd half of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021, which begins on September 19, 2021.
According to a source, Rashid and Nabi have arrived in the UAE and are presently quarantined. The SRH management would look after both players’ families at all times.
The SRH management will also ensure that both players are in the greatest possible state of mind before the showpiece competition.
“They are very much in UAE and undergoing quarantine. They are not just professionals, they are family and the team will take complete care of them not just during the tournament but at all times. The management will ensure they are in the best frame of mind and perform to the best of their ability,” a source said.
Players from the bubbles in CPL and the SA-SL series will undergo 2 days of isolation
In addition, players who will be arriving in the UAE to join their respective teams after competing in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) and the Sri Lanka-South Africa series will be placed in isolation for 2 days. The source said that after the players have been tested and the results have been disclosed, they will be able to join their appropriate teams.
“The players coming in from the bubbles in CPL and from the SA-SL series will undergo two days of isolation. They will come in and go into their rooms on the first day, they will then get tested the next day and once the results come in, they will join the squad members in the bubble,” added the source.
The first match of the 2nd leg of the IPL 2021 will feature Chennai Super Kings (CSK) against Mumbai Indians (MI). The Delhi Capitals are presently leading the IPL standings, having won six of the eight games they played during the 1st half of the competition.
