Gaikwad looked good against RCB too before his innings were cut short. His return to form augurs well for CSK who have been struggling to get going especially in the powerplay. He was CSK’s lynchpin last season. His 635 runs-orange cap effort propelled CSK to a championship title. He will face Khaleel Ahmed in the powerplay. Ahmed has been sensational this season for DC. This opening bout will prove to be crucial in the game’s outcome.
#2 Ambati Rayudu vs Kuldeep Yadav
He is CSK’s best bet against spin. The veteran has put on a display even during this season. Ambati Rayudu’s blistering knock against Punjab almost saw CSK home. He targets the spinners right from ball one. Rayudu will have a worthy opponent in Kuldeep Yadav. The left-arm chinaman has had a terrific tournament so far. #3 David Warner vs Mukesh Choudhary
Delhi Capitals‘ resurgence is largely down to David Warner’s fireworks at the top of the order. He played one of the innings of the tournament (92 against SRH). Warner’s incredible ability is his consistency which beautifully compliments his strike rate. He sets the tone early for the Capitals. Warner though is susceptible to early seam and swing movement. Mukesh Choudhary has been one of the finds for CSK this season. He will be eyeing this contest against battle-hardened Warner.
#4 Rishabh Pant vs Moeen Ali
Moeen Ali was one of the shining lights for CSK in their last game. He broke the game open in a matter of a couple of overs with his off-spin. Ali is a smart reader of the game. Despite not possessing the greatest of tricks, Ali continues to impress with his handy bowling. In Rishabh Pant, he will have a familiar nemesis. Pant took down Ali even during the Test matches.
