If that occurs, it will be another even more loss for Kolkata Knight Riders(KKR), who are already having only 2 victories and 5 losses in 7 games, are in the bottom part of the standings.
Also, KKR are struggling with the absences of captain Eoin Morgan and renowned bowler Pat Cummins. And now Gill, who is expected to miss the remainder of the season.
Shubman Gill is seen as the ideal counterbalance for the KKR
KKR would have a difficult time replacing Shubman Gill at the top of the order, while Team India has a lot of possibilities for the opening position. Despite his inability to score more frequently, Gill is seen as the ideal counterbalance for the team’s Nitish Rana and Rahul Tripathi.
According to PTI, Shubman will miss 2 months of cricket due to the fracture.
“Shubman has sustained a shin stress fracture, which will keep him out of action for a minimum of two months, which effectively rules him out of the first three Tests against England in August,” said the source.
“It will be a race against time to get him fit for the final two Test matches in September after completing rehabilitation,” he added.
India will play England in a five-match Test series from August 4 that will also kick off the World Test Championship’s (WTC) next phase from 2021-23.
