Ab De Villiers ran the show for RCB as their top order failed to bag runs in the start. Skipper Virat Kohli got out for 12 runs while Devdutt Paddikal left his wicket for just 17 runs. Rajat Patidar (31) and Glenn Maxwell (25) created a decent partnership. However, ABD was yet again the game-changer for the Challengers as he minted 75 runs in just 42 balls.
RCB handed a total of 172 runs for Delhi to chase. Delhi’s openers failed to put on a big show as Prithvi Shaw and Shikhar Dhawan got out for just 21 and 6 runs, respectively. Steve Smith disappointed in the no.3 position as he managed to score only 4 runs off 5 balls. Skipper Rishabh Pant stayed till the end as he played a slow-paced inning of 58 runs off 48 balls. Marcus Stoinis played a decent cameo of 17-ball 22 runs. Shimron Hetmyer carried Delhi Capitals till the last over of the game. He scored 53 runs in just 25 balls and was looking unbeatable. RCB won the game by 1 run.
