The Indian cricket grand fest was forced to shut down mid-way after the rise of COVID-19 cases in the bio-bubble. BCCI discontinued the VIVO IPL 2021 season after just 29 games as the lethal Coronavirus pierced through the bio-bubble. Several players along with the team’s support staff caught the disease.
IPL 2021: Nicholas Pooran wants to come back stronger
However, the end of the IPL also put an end to Nicholas Pooran’s misery. The West Indies international was seen suffering throughout the latest season of the IPL while playing for Punjab Kings. He got out for 4 ducks in the six innings he played. In the rest two innings, he scored a modest score of 9 and 19 runs respectively.
Nevertheless, PBKS backed the player most of the season. Even that didn’t help the player regain his confidence back. Pooran has scored a total of 549 runs in 26 innings with 2 half-centuries in his bank. Pooran is considered to be one of the best T10s and T20I batsmen but the West Indian has failed to mark in the Indian cash-rich league.
However, Pooran wants to take the break and come back stronger in the league. He took his Twitter account to bid adieu to the Indian league.
“The suspension of the tournament and the reasons behind it are heartbreaking but necessary. See you soon IPL! In the meantime, I’ll be using this picture as my motivation to come back stronger than ever. Keep safe everyone,” Pooran wrote in his tweet which also included a picture of his scores in IPL 2021.
