The IPL 2021 mini-auction is set to commence in a short while. Even though it is a mini-auction, it is surely going to be an action-filled auction with teams setting their eyes on a few key players. There is a healthy mix of star attractions as well as the unknown heroes in the auction. It will be interesting to see how the franchisees go about making the purchases.

The total number of players:
A total of 292 players will be going under the hammer in the auctions today. The list includes the likes of star players like Glenn Maxwell, Shakib Al Hasan, and Steve Smith. IPL regulars like Aaron Finch and Chris Morris have also thrown their hats in the ring. The pool comprises 164 Indians and 227 uncapped players. Cricketers from 10 different countries have lined up for an IPL contract in this auction. 1 player each from Nepal, UAE, and USA have listed themselves for the auction.

Purse available:
Punjab Kings will be having the maximum money in the bank during the auctions. They have a cap of INR 53.2 crores available and they surely will go all out to make some star purchases. Kolkata Knight Riders and Sunrisers Hyderabad have very little money to splurge. They have INR 10.75 crores each in their kitty. They will be silent spectators for the major part of the auction.
Chennai Super Kings have INR 19.90 crores while defending champions MI have INR 15.35 crores with them. The 2020 IPL runners-up Delhi Capitals have a purse of INR 13.40 crores. While wooden-spooners of last season, Rajasthan Royals have INR 37.85 crores with them. And the perennial fan favourite team of the league, Royal Challengers Bangalore have INR 35.40 crores in their kitty.

The maximum number of players each team can have in its squad is 25. We bring to you the number of slots available for each team.

They have 11 slots available with 8 Indian and 3 overseas slots up for grabs.
Punjab Kings:
The Kings have 9 available slots in their team, of which 4 slots are for Indian players and 5 will be made by overseas purchases.

They have 9 spots up for grabs (6 Indians and 3 overseas slots)
Delhi Capitals:
They have 8 slots up for grabs (5 Indians and 3 overseas)
Kolkata Knight Riders:
They have 8 available slots of which 6 slots are to be occupied by Indian players and 2 by overseas players.
Mumbai Indians:
They have just 7 spots to fill of which 3 slots are available for Indian players and 4 for overseas.
Chennai Super Kings:
