BCCI can declare the 2020 IPL schedule by late Thursday or Friday:
At a time when the franchises of the IPL except Chennai Super Kings have started their preparations for the 13th edition of IPL, the BCCI is yet to declare the schedule of the season. Because of the coronavirus scare in the CSK team, the BCCI has delayed declaring the 2020 IPL fixture, where 11 supporting staff and 2 players tested positive for the COVID-19.
As per the sources, the schedule of this year’s edition will be declared by Thursday late evening, or by Friday.
At first, the 2020 IPL was scheduled to be held on 29th March, then it was rescheduled to 15th April after which the Indian Cricket Board deferred it for an indefinite period provided the huge positive coronavirus cases in India.

According to the protocols, the defending champions Mumbai Indians take on the runners-up from the last season in the opening match. However, provided the current improvements in the camp of CSK, the BCCI might be strained to field another team against Mumbai Indians.
On Monday, according to the Test done on the camp of the Chennai Super Kings, it was confirmed that all the members of the CSK team had tested COVID-19 negative now. However, the CEO of CSK, KS Viswanathan has given the confirmation to the media that there was some sort of confusion as all the members had tested negative except those 13 members that had resulted positive initially.
He said “There was some sort of confusion when asked regarding COVID-19 tests of all CSK members. Apart from those 13 members, all other members tested negative.”
