The Dubai International Cricket Stadium Will Host the Sixth Game Of KXIP Vs RCB:

The Dubai International Cricket Stadium will host the sixth game of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 when Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) take on Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on Thursday.

RCB are coming into this game on the back of their 10-run win against Sunrisers Hyderabad and Virat Kohli and Co. will want to seal their second win in a row.

Contrastingly, before Delhi Capitals held their nerves to seal a victory in the Super Over, KXIP came tantalisingly close to winning their opening game. KL Rahul, who is only leading the side for the second time, will be keen to register his maiden win against the franchise he once played for as IPL captain.

Who Will Win In The Battle Of Karnataka Boys?

Two squads, six players from Karnataka and a contest for bragging rights. We have Rahul, Mayank Agarwal, K Gowtham, Karun Nair, J Suchith on one side, at KXIP, and Devdutt Padikkal on the other side, at RCB. Since cricket is a team sport, within a fight, there are always a few interesting battles, and it will make witnessing one such fight of the Karnataka boys a fascinating contest.

Add to this, the KXIP also have India great Anil Kumble as their Director of Cricket Operations.

Head To Head:

There have been 24 times when in the IPL these two groups have faced off against each other and there is little to distinguish them from each other as both teams have won 12 games each.

Key Players:

1. Mayank Agarwal

Mayank Agarwal almost single-handedly took KXIP home in their opening game against Delhi Capitals, scoring an impressive 89. The right-hander was calculative and did a good job balancing provocation with caution. Though KXIP wants to do well with their other batsmen, Mayank is looking forward to continuing his form and leading the team home.

2. Navdeep Saini

In RCB’s first game of the season, Navdeep Saini had a strong outing. Two wickets for 25 runs were picked up by the right-arm pacer as RCB defeated SRH by 10 runs. He is lethal with his pace no matter at which point of the match he bowls. Saini will be vital to the team’s success as RCB is now chasing their second win in a row.

3. Devdutt Padikkal

In white-ball cricket, the left-handed batsman had a great domestic season, and he lived up to the potential he had shown on his IPL debut, scoring a match-winning fifty against SRH. Devdutt Padikkal will be up against a side that is led by his Karnataka teammate KL Rahul in the RCB’s second game of the season.

4. Mohammad Shami

With the ball against DC, Mohammad Shami was exceptional and returned with figures of 3/15. As they take on RCB in their second game, he will once again be required to spearhead the KXIP bowling attack. He can hit the deck hard and swing the ball at power, so it’s going to be fun to see how the fight between him and the top and middle order of the RCB plays out.

5. Yuzvendra Chahal

As RCB beat SRH in the first game, he played a crucial role, scalping three wickets, including that of a well-set Jonny Bairstow. In their second game of the season, Yuzvendra Chahal will once again be crucial to the success of the team as they take on KXIP.

Wild Card

1. Ravi Bishnoi

During India’s 2020 Under 19 World Cup campaign, he was the leading wicket-taker of the tournament and on his IPL debut, he did not disappoint either. However, Ravi Bishnoi will be up against the likes of Virat, AB de Villiers, Aaron Finch, and Devdutt Padikkal, a young and promising individual. It would certainly be a morale booster for the youngster if he manages to mirror his success against DC again today.

Statistics:

1. KXIP’s record at the venue: Played 1, Won 1.
2. RCB’s record at the venue: Played 3, Won 2, Lost 1.

Approaching Milestones:

1. Chris Gayle is 142 runs away from 1000 IPL runs for KXIP
2. Virat Kohli needs 74 runs to complete 5500 IPL runs
3. Dale Steyn needs 3 wickets to complete 100 wickets in the IPL
4. AB de Villiers is 54 runs away from 4500 IPL runs
