Suryakumar Yadav has certainly become a fan favourite since his debut for India in the T20I series. The 29-year-old Mumbai Indian superstar finally received his share of success with his maiden debut against England. The right-handed batsman scored a half-century in his debut innings and became an overnight sensation. Fans were expecting to watch him in the three-match ODI series against England as well.
IND vs ENG: Indian fans wanted to see Suryakumar Yadav
Virat Kohli, however, dropped him in the first ODI, which sounded like the right decision as Shreyas Iyer was played in place of Surya. Shreyas Iyer then picked up a shoulder injury in the first ODI which was played in Pune. The shoulder injury will keep Iyer away for at least 3 months. Fans were expecting to see Surya replace Iyer in the second ODI but to everyone’s surprise, the MI batsman was dropped from the second game as well. Wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant was roped-in in place of injured Iyer.
