India Vs West Indies T20: Chahar And Venkatesh Iyer To Miss?
It is uncertain whether Chahar, Iyer will be ready for the rest of the series
The incident was reported in the last over of the game, as the Windies captain appeared to be firing on all cylinders, as Chahar was brought back to the dressing room and was unable to complete his entire limit as Harshal Patel had to deliver the final over. Chahar ended with a 3-0-28-1 record.
On the other side, Venkatesh Iyer, who delivered a sale, also suffered a blow to his right hand when a Pollard knock went through his fingers in the 17th over. Despite the injury, both players will have their scanning tests completed, but it is unclear whether they will be ready for the rest of the series.
Venkatesh was up to the challenge match-winning innings of 24 from 13 balls. Suryakumar Yadav also decided to play 34-ball innings to ensure India reach 158 with 7 deliveries to go and secure a 1-0 edge in the 3-match series.
Suryakumar Yadav handled the finisher’s job flawlessly after captain Rohit Sharma shone off at the summit, as India eased to a 6-wicket victory against the West Indies in the opening T20I. Rohit slammed a 19-ball 40 (3-6’s, 4-4’s) to set the stage for India’s victory as his bowling attack limited the opponents to 157-7.
