India’s Australia tour will start in Brisbane or Adelaide:
India’s most anticipated tour, the Australia tour will start either in Brisbane or in Adelaide instead of playing in Perth after the state government of Western Australia made it clear that in Western Australia, there will no possibility of reducing the quarantine period.
As per the report, the Adelaide Oval is ready to host continuous Test matches, including a day-night match along with the Boxing Day against the team of India later this year if there is no availability of organizing match in the MCG due to COVID-19 in Victoria.
Also, the players of India along with Australia will come straight from the Uae after playing in IPL where there are second wave COVID-19 cases.
Mark McGowan’s Statement:
The premier of Western Australia State government, Mark McGowan said in the report “According to us, it was not possible to return the team from a highly risky foreign location and then practicing outside of quarantine, before traveling to another state to play matches.”
He added “There were a lot of risks in the model presented by Cricket Australia. We have to cautious and do a suitable thing by all people of Western Australia and not to do any unrequired chances.”
According to the earlier plans of Cricket Australia, the team of Australia, which now on a tour of England and the Indian players were predicted to enter Australia via Perth.
Both sides were may stay and take training in a comfortable quarantine environment in Perth before the starting of the series, but the state government of Western Australia insist to stay in strict hotel quarantine for international passengers.
The BCCI has requested the Cricket Australia to give permission to the Indian players to take training in the quarantine period inside the bio-secure bubble which is not possible at all in Perth.
