In the Indian cricketing scene, we are witnessing a new trend of spectators breaching security on different grounds to greet or take selfies with players.
An incident had already occurred in Pune, as a fan ran on to the pitch to touch the feet of Rohit Sharma, but eventually tripped him to the ground.
In another instance on the cricket field in Ranchi, a fan rushed to the pitch to reach Quinton De Kock’s foot, which shocked the South African cricketer who responded with a hug.
The incident became even more amusing as the fan lost his slipper way back to the stand, as he was dragged but De Kock came forward to return that fan’s belonging.
As India has already won the series, South Africa is playing the last match of the series to get a consolation victory.
But the Proteas may not seem to be able to register their win again, as India still must lose more than three wickets even after the end of day 1, thanks to the strong partnership between Rohit Sharma and Ajinkya Rahane.
