The Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) has congratulated New Zealand spin bowler Ajaz Patel on his outstanding performance in the 2nd Test versus India at the Wankhede Stadium. The left-arm spinner took 10 wickets in the 1st innings, establishing as the 3rd bowler in world cricket to accomplish the mark. He joins the likes of Jim Laker & Anil Kumble on the elite lineup.
He concluded with 47.5-12-119-10 figures, as his squad bowled India out for 325 in the 1st innings. In terms of the MCA, it presented Patel with an appropriate scoresheet from the Mumbai Test. Patel presented the ball and his T-shirt to the MCA museum.
Patel was happy after reaching the milestone. Also, he considered it a memorable moment, he also stated that a cricketer must work hard to accomplish excellence on a consistent basis. He was especially pleased to have appeared in Mumbai, his birthplace.

“After I came off the field things took place very quickly. These kinds of things don’t really sink in too late. Obviously, it’s a special moment. I am not gonna lie about it. It is special for me. I met my family, my mom and dad, wife. It’s neither easy being a cricketer, spending a lot of time away from home,” Patel said in an Interaction.
“Coming back home to Mumbai, to Wankhede and producing something like this is quite special. I am grateful to God that he blessed me with such an occasion,” he added.
In the 2nd innings, Patel took 4 wickets, removing Mayank Agarwal, Cheteshwar Pujara, and Shreyas Iyer. However, his efforts were fruitless as the NZ were defeated by a massive score of 372 runs.
On Day 4, the visitors had dropped 5 wickets while pursuing 540 runs on a sluggish track. Jayant Yadav excelled through their bottom order. Patel took 14 wickets in the match, however, Mayank Agarwal was named Player of the Match after reaching 150 in the 1st innings.
