IND vs ENG: KL Rahul fined for “indecency”
KL Rahul was seemingly disappointed with the decision as he showed displeasure while walking off the pitch. With that, Rahul apparently broke Article 2.8 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players And Player Support Personnel, which relates to “showing dissent at an umpire’s decision during an International Match.” The ICC statement further read that KL will have a demerit point reckoned to his disciplinary record
However, this happened to Rahul’s first offence in over 2 years. The report added that Rahul has accepted the charges against him and hence, the matter won’t require a formal hearing. Rahul’s 46 gave India a strong start in their second innings drill against England. Rahul has made a strong comeback to red-ball cricket after missing out from the scene for a couple of years. He is the third-highest run-scorer in the Test series behind Joe Root and Rohit Sharma. Rahul has scored a total of 315 runs in the series so far at an impressive average of 42.85.
