On the extreme side, George Munsey looked promising, scoring 24 with 4 fours and one six. He led the Scots in scoring before being sent off by Mohammed Shami. Michael Leask posed a threat for a time, scoring 21 off 12 shots before becoming Jadeja’s 3rd victim. Shami also scooped up 3 wickets. Jasprit Bumrah took 2 wickets, while off-spinner Varun Chakravarthy seemed wicketless.

The Indian openers, KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma offered all they had at the beginning of their run chase. The pair was well conscious that India needed to raise their NRR and therefore executed their shots from the start. Rohit and Rahul went completely crazy in the initial 3 overs, scoring 39 runs. The Scotland bowlers were helpless as boundaries continued to fly high.

Evans was struck for 16 runs in his 1st over, whereas Wheal was bowled for 32 runs in his first 2 overs. Wheal, on the other hand, provided Scotland their first breakthrough, dismissing Rohit, who hammered 30 runs off 16 balls with 5 fours and one six. Rahul, on the other side, continued to go for the big strokes. He hit 50 off 18 balls, including 6 fours and 3 sixes, as India knocked down the mark with 14 overs to play.
