The ICC Player of the Month Nominee finalists for February 2022 have been revealed, with 3 male and female nominees selected for the monthly accolade. Men’s ICC Player of the Month contenders includes UAE batsman Vriitya Aravind, India batsman Shreyas Iyer, with Nepal’s Dipendra Sing Airee. Inside the women’s division, Amelia Kerr from New Zealand, Mithali Raj from India, and Deepti Sharma from India are all shortlisted for the nominations. An independent ICC Voting Academy, as well as fans all over the world, may now participate in voting to choose the finalists, who’ll be unveiled next week. Supporters who have enrolled at “ICC-cricket.com/awards” are inclined to vote for their favorite ICC Players of the Month for February 2022.

Men’s Player of the Month nominations:

Vriitya Aravind – UAE

Vriitya Aravind was the UAE’s standout performer during last month’s ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Qualifier A in Oman. Aravind, the team’s youngest player, was instrumental in the UAE’s qualification for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 later this year. He scored 267 runs in 5 matches, with an avg of 89.00 and a strike rate of 154.33. He set the stage with a 67-ball 97* versus Oman in the opening match, and his momentum continued throughout the competition with numbers of 40, 84*, and 46 in the following 3 matches. However, he didn’t end eventually, but he put his best to clinch ‘Player of the Tournament.

Shreyas Iyer – India:

Shreyas Iyer was incredibly strong in February, contributing significantly to India’s limited-overs. He entered the month with a Player of the Match-winning 80 versus the WI in the last One-Day International and a 25 off 16 in the final Twenty-20 International. Due to India’s decision to rest players and Suryakumar Yadav’s injury, Iyer was elevated to No. 3 in the T20I series versus Sri Lanka. He hit 3 consecutive fifties in 3 matches and concluded with 204 runs at a blazing strike rate of 174.35, earning him Player of the Series honors.

Dipendra Singh Airee – Nepal:

Dipendra Singh Airee was an important component in Nepal finishing 3rd in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Qualifier A in Oman. He was brilliant with both the bat and the ball, ending the competition with 159 runs and 6 wickets. Before the competition, he was outstanding in a quadrangular series versus Oman, the UAE, and Ireland, scoring 142 runs in 3 matches and grabbing four wickets in the last game versus Ireland.

Women’s Player of the Month nominations:

Amelia Kerr – New Zealand:

Amelia Kerr has been brilliant with the bat and ball recently She ended the ODI series versus India before the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup as the leading run-scorer overall and the joint highest wicket-taker for her team, alongside her sister Jess Kerr. She amassed 353 runs in 5 One-Day Internationals, with an avg of 117.66 and a strike rate of 97.51, including 3 fifties and a century. She took 7 wickets with the ball and had an economy rate of 5.78. She has also been named Player of the Match in 2 of the 5 ODIs & also awarded Player of the Series.

Mithali Raj – India

Mithali Raj was among India’s handful of bright spots in the one-day international series versus New Zealand. Scoring 232 runs, featuring 3 fifties, she was the leading run-scorer for India and the 2nd-highest overall, averaging 77.33 with an 82.56 strike rate. She fulfilled the position of finisher very perfectly in the last ODI, scoring 54 runs undefeated as India chased down 252 with 4 overs to play. With the victory, India secured that they would conclude the series with a victory.

Deepti Sharma – India

Deepti Sharma excelled in both departments with the bat and the ball in the series versus New Zealand. She grabbed the most wickets (10) in the ODIs and was also effective with the bat, scoring 116 runs in 5 games  She took 4 wickets in the 2nd ODI and backed it up with a 69* in the third.
