I Want To Make Sure That We’re Doing The Best: Pat Cummins

The Australian speedster Pat Cummins has claimed that with his child on the way, he has already begun to consider his children’s and grandchildren’s futures. Cummins also believes that the consequences of his conduct will be felt mostly by his children and grandkids.

Cummins has also just attended a meeting with limited-overs skipper Aaron Finch and Test captain Tim Paine to discuss Head Coach Justin Langer’s performance.

Cummins remarked that the last 2 weeks have been fruitful and everyone is eager to go on and start winning games. Cummins believes that the discussion has come to an end.

“With a child on the way I’ve started to think more about the future of our children and grandchildren, nieces and nephews. They’re going to be the ones who will feel the effects of our actions right now. It has been a productive couple of weeks and everyone is ready to move on and start playing cricket and winning games. We’re over all the talking and ready to get back playing,” said Cummins.

Pat Cummins believes that finding a new Test captain will take time, adding that having to play Australia is like starting a new career. Cummins also stated that his experience as the vice-captain has given him an advantage in leading the Australian team.

“It’s still a little while away. It’s like any new job. You don’t actually know until you’re in that position. I certainly feel better equipped now than I was a couple of years ago just through more exposure to leadership responsibilities through the vice-captain role. I’m more confident in my style and how I want to go about things,” said Cummins.

Cummins also talked about what he wants to leave for his kid and following generations, concluding by saying that he wants to do everything he can to keep them safe.

“Just like I want them to have a great education, great friendships, and a happy life, I want to make sure that we’re doing the best to look after this planet we all live on,” concluded Pat Cummins.
