Dinesh Karthik has recently received a lot of attention for his brilliant work with his commentary. Despite the fact that this is the seasoned wicketkeeper-first batsman’s step into programming, his humorous remarks and smart analysis wowed everybody. This does not, however, rule out Karthik’s dreams of shining over the 22-yard line. The Tamil Nadu-born player is eager on representing India in a major tournament. let’s look at What Was Dinesh Karthik Desire.
Following the 2019 World Cup in England, he has not played for the national squad. Karthik is in the decline of his profession at the age of 36, and the selectors haven’t shown much attention in him recently too. Karthik, on the other hand, hasn’t given up hope of reclaiming the India blue jersey. In fact, he hopes to play in at least one of the T20 World Cups coming up next.
What Was Dinesh Karthik Desire
“I want to play the sport as long as I am fit. I want to represent India in at least one World Cup of the next two, I think one is in Dubai and the next is in Australia. I had a fab time with the Indian T20 team till the time I was dropped due to an unsuccessful World Cup campaign,” said Karthik.
“I still play in the IPL for KKR. India does need a pure middle-order batsman. They have a lot of top-order batsmen who they slot in the middle-order. Barring Hardik Pandya and Ravindra Jadeja there is no one who is a middle-order batsman. They all bat for their franchises from opening to No.3, with the only exception being Rishabh Pant who bats at No.4,” Karthik concluded.
Karthik’s next appearance will be in the second phase of the IPL 2021, which begins in September this year in the UAE. Mostly with T20 World Cup starting soon after the Indian tournament, Karthik will need to put on a strong performance to exceed expectations and earn a spot in India’s selection for the tournament.
