Pakistani fast bowler Mohammad Amir has decided to take an indefinite break from all formats of international cricket. He has blamed Pakistan Cricket Board for being a major reason behind his impulsive decision. Bowling sensation Mohammed Amir insisted that Pakistan Cricket Board’s negative behavior towards him has forced him to take this difficult call.
The 28-year-old revealed that he was deeply hurt after being dropped from Pakistan’s squad for the T20Is series against New Zealand. Amir has also accused Pakistan’s team management of mentally torturing him. These are some serious allegations on a top cricketing team.
Mohammad Amir Speaks About His Decision
Amir, while speaking about his sudden decision, stated that he has been constantly tortured throughout his career. He further said that he is tired of being mistreated and wants to leave cricket for now. “Right now I am leaving cricket. I am being mentally tortured. I don’t think, I will be able to handle this kind of torture because I have been tortured a lot from 2010 to 2015,” he said in a video released by Khel Shel.

Mohammad Amir also expressed the trauma he faced after deciding to retire from Test cricket in 2019. He took a jab on Pakistan’s bowling coach Waqar Younis, who accused Amir of ditching his country before their crucial away series against Australia in 2019. Waqar claimed that Amir left his team hanging for his selfish reasons and was the primary reason behind the humiliation they faced Down Under. However, Amir backed his decision to retire from Test by stating that he wanted to give 100% to Pakistan in the limited-over format of the game.
“My personal decision to leave Test cricket was taken in the wrong way. My retirement was attached to my desire of playing T20 leagues. I was wishing to invest everything in white-ball cricket for Pakistan. But now and then someone or the other person came out with a statement. Our bowling coach came out and said, I ditched them, somebody says workload wasn’t properly handled,” he further added.
Mohammad Amir will release an official statement about his cricketing future once he reaches Pakistan. “I will reach Pakistan within two days and meet my family. I will then release a proper statement telling the actual reason for my decision,” Amir concluded.
