The former Pakistani Cricketer Shoaib Malik is in headlines because of his famous love story with Indian star Tennis Player Sania Mirza. Talking about this historical meeting and their professional career, Shoaib Malik who played for the Pakistan national cricket and also plays for the Multan Sultans in Pakistan super league. From 2007 to 2009 he was the captain of the Pakistan national cricket team while Sania has also won six Grand slam titles in her career as a successful Tennis Player. Shoaib married Sania Mirza in a traditional Hyderabadi Muslim Wedding Ceremony at the Taj Krishna Hotel in Hyderabad, India following Pakistani wedding customs.
Sania Mirza and Shoaib Malik’s love story is like a typical Bollywood film. At a time when everything in a disturb condition and nothing was going right between the two countries, the two sports stars once again proved that love breaks all boundaries as in 2010 they tied the knot. They are the happy parents of a baby boy.
What one would expect, the wedding had mixed reactions. While many people hailed Sania for her brave decisions, some also criticized her for marrying a Pakistani cricketer. In a recent interview, Sania disclosed how she met the former Pakistan cricket team captain. The tennis star opened upon first meeting with her future husband and to begin with the thought that destiny had a role to play in their marriage. But later felt that Shoaib had planned the meeting at the time.
“We knew each other socially and then we bumped into each other at a restaurant in Hobart where you don’t even see animals/birds after 6 pm, forget people (laughs). Must’ve been destiny that we met over there to be very honest. Only later I realized that he had planned to come to the restaurant because I was there. I was giving destiny all the credit but it was not,” Sania said.

Sania Mirza, for now, is preparing once again to take the tennis court. A few years ago, she took a break from the game to start a family. The Indian player had won medals at multi-disciplinary events apart from laying hands on a year-end WTA Finale title with great Swiss Martina Hingis.
Sania now plans to return to competitive tennis and looking forward to making her comeback at the January next year’s Hobart International WTA tournament. Since October 2017, has not played a competitive match. On the other side, in this year’s World Cup, Shoiab Malik brought down curtains in his ODI career. He is still participating in the T20Is but has fallen out of favor.
