Haris Rauf made a name for himself after playing well in the Big Bash League 2019-20. This paved his way to the Pakistan squad. Because he has performed well in Australian conditions, he became a front-runner to make it to the World Cup squad at the end of this year.
In a recent interview, the pacer was asked which batsman would be considered his main challenge in the ICC T20 World Cup. Answering this question, Rauf first said that since this is the World Cup, there will be top players from every country. However, bowling is a significant challenge for Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, he said.
Based on my experience in BBL, I should be able to do well in the World Cup: Haris Rauf.
“It is great to have confidence against quality batsmen like Rohit Sharma and Kohli,” He said he could do well at the World Cup in Australia because he excelled at the BBL. He does not let batsmen dominate him, which makes him a good performer. Fast bowler Steve Smith claimed to be successful because he did not allow the batsman to exert pressure on him.
“Since it is a World Cup match, the quality of the opposition is tough because of the top players from every country play in it, so it is difficult to bowl. Rauf said in an interview with Pak Passion.
“To do well against such high-quality batsmen works wonders for my confidence, and to be honest, based on my experience in the BBL, I can do well at the World Cup if given a chance.
Pakistan Speedster played for the Melbourne Stars during the 2019-20 BBL season. He was the fourth-highest wicket-taker in the tournament. He took 20 wickets in 10 matches. His performance in the BBL helped him to get a maiden call up for the national team.
