In the ongoing DY Patil T20 tournament, Mumbai Indians all-rounder Hardik Pandya who is playing for Reliance 1 scored 158 off 55 balls. The DY Patil T20 tournament started on 24th February with the last match on 6th march with sixteen teams divided into 4 equal groups. During the semi-final match between Reliance 1 and BPCL, the comeback star Hardik Pandya showed his powerpack performance.
Hardik Pandya was unavailable for cricket matches for the last five months as he underwent surgery in London for his acute lower back injury. As he was already suffering from minor strains in his lower back, after India’s final T20 against South Africa in Bengaluru, the BCCI team consulted him and recommended surgery for a long term solution. After the successful operation, he made his comeback at the DY Patil T20 tournament. After his return, he said, “It is good to be on the field and your support keeps me going” to the supporters.
As soon as he started playing, he gave his best at the game scoring 105 off just 39 balls on March 4th leading the team to the semi-finals. He didn’t stop yet. He smashed 158 off 55 balls against BPCL in semi-finals, which is also the highest score by Indian batsmen in T20s. During his play, he smashed 20 sixes and 6 fours. The all-rounder suggested that he is well with bat and ball at its best.
So looking into his game, he has many chances to play in the upcoming South Africa tour of India this month just before the IPL.
