Glenn Maxwell Injury News: After fracturing his leg in a strange accident at a 50th birthday celebration of his friend in Melbourne this past weekend, Glenn Maxwell could miss the remainder of the summer.
After breaking his left fibula on Saturday, Maxwell is ruled out of the ODI series against England, which starts this week. Maxwell will next need to undertake a prescription recovery.

After running in a backyard on Saturday night with the person celebrating the milestone. Both lost balance and fell. Maxwell’s friend’s leg got caught underneath the other person’s and they both fell. Both did not drink and so it doesn’t appear that the other individual was hurt. The 34-year-old underwent surgery on Sunday.
Management’s Reaction to Glenn Maxwell Injury
In Australia’s last T20 World Cup encounter against Afghanistan, Maxwell was given the player of the game award. Glenn is in a terrific mood. According to Australia’s selection chief George Bailey, “Glenn is in good spirits. It was an unfortunate accident and we feel for Glenn in the circumstances given he was in great touch in his last few games,”.
“Glenn is a critical part of our white ball structure and we will continue to support him through his recovery and rehabilitation.”
Missed Opportunities for Maxwell due to Injury
Maxwell will not be able to play in the next one-day series against England. The series begins on Thursday. He may also miss the entire BBL season with the Melbourne Stars. It all depends on how quickly he recovers. This will all be in understanding in the upcoming weeks. His recovery will be in consideration. He will be in consideration for the Test tour of India that begins in February. At this point, it all seems to be in air.
Maxwell will be unable to play for Australia A against South Africa due to his injury. He will also miss a rare Sheffield Shield debut in early December. Sean Abbott will play in place of Glenn Maxwell.
